He said in addition, “we must pray for divine intervention to enable the nation to champion African excellence”.

Obirifo Ankobea II made the call when he addressed the traditional Rulers and people of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area (GATA) at Gomoa Ngyiresi on Friday.

The chiefs deliberated on the welfare of the people in the area, the fallen standard of education, Health Insurance Scheme, indiscipline among the youth and other matters. The Omanhen told the traditional rulers to learn to respect themselves and their subjects in order to receive the same respect from them.

Mr. Fred O. Addae, Gomoa district Co-ordinating Director advised the people to invest heavily in their children’s education instead of wasting money on unnecessary activities.

He said the school drop-outs must also be made to learn vocation and other trade in other to make them financially strong and self-supporting.

According to him anything apart from this would enable them to produce youth with questionable characters such as armed robbers and drug addicts.

Mr. Richard Marcus Odamey, Gomoa District Deputy Director of Agriculture told the chiefs that the district had been selected among the 23 districts to benefit from the Millennium Challenge Accounts and therefore advised farmers in the area to hold themselves in readiness for the programme.
