Chief appeals for assistance to rebuild schools

Adeiso (E/R), Jan. 11, GNA – Nana Adu Asinor, Chief of Asukyerema near Adeiso has appealed to the West Akim District Assembly and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to assist the people to re-roof their school building, which was ripped off by a rainstorm at the weekend.

The storm hit places like the chiefs palace, a day care centre and the Local Authority Primary School, which is estimated to cost several millions of cedis.

Nana Asinor said over 200 school children from the town now have their classes under trees and makeshift palm sheds. He also appealed to the District Chief Executive for West Akim, Mr Sintim Aboagye to inspect the affected places to know their difficulties for some immediate intervention.

Nana Asinor said the people are ready to support the reconstruction of the schools with communal labour and voluntary contributions to alleviate the plight of the children. 11 Jan. 06
