Chief and elders offers land to the youth for agriculture

Nsakinaa (GAR), March 26, GNA – Nii Tetteh Kofi Quaye, Mankrado of Nsakinaa in Ga West, near Amasaman, at the weekend asked the youth of the area to stop illegal stone and sand-winning, as well as land guards activities. Nii Quaye, who was addressing over 300 young men women in the area asked them to take their studies very seriously in order to become good future leaders. He made the remarks after he and the elders of the community presented 120 hectares of land to the youth for their economic ventures. The elders are Emmanuel Ni Lankai, Mr Okasa Lamptey and Nii Oshikpi Agyamah.

They advised the youth to go into agricultural ventures, “instead of roaming about, smoking and drinking”. Mr Isaac Tetteh Quaye, secretary of the youth association, commended Nii Quaye and the elders for the gesture and promised them that they would use the land profitably. He said the association would recruit school dropouts in the area to join it to go into agriculture. Mr Quaye appealed to the government to connect the town to the national electricity grid adding that the community had already erected about 178 electric poles for the electrification.
