Chief advocates job creation for Akyem Abuakwa youth

Nana Mbiah I, Mponuahene of Akyem Abuakwa State, has appealed to colleague chiefs and assembly members in the area, to initiate economic activities to create jobs for the people, particularly the youth.

He said such a measure could prevent the youth in the area from migrating to the cities in search of non-existent jobs.

Nana Mbiah, who gave the advice at the installation of Odikro of Akuffokrom , Nana Akuffo II, said the youth formed the backbone of the nation and there was the need to engage them in productive ventures to keep them away from vices such as alcoholism, smoking, drug abuse, land guard activities and armed robbery.

He told the chiefs, assembly members and opinion leaders in the area to move themselves away from land litigations and chieftaincy dispute, saying it was a recipe for under-development which in the long run leads to the destruction of projects, lives and properties of the community members.

He appealed to investors who had already shown interest in investing in the area, to acquire proper documentation to make their operations legitimate.

Nana Mbiah asked traditional rulers in the area to stop encroaching Okyeman lands earmarked for development projects.

He appealed to Ghanaians to ensure peace in Election 2012 and cautioned the youth in particular to shun politicians, who might desire to use them to create confusion during the polls.**
