Reliable sources from Chicago informed Ghanaweb that former President of Ghana, His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings and Minister for Chieftaincy and Culture, Mr. Samuel K . Boafo will attend this years’ Ghanafest scheduled at the historic Washington Park in Chicago on July 29 2006 from 11 AM to 10 PM.
Attendees will not be allowed to park their cars on the grass this year since the park district is enforcing a $500.00 penalty for each car parked on the grass.
Our sources gathered that some areas will be cordoned off for security reasons. The organizers further predicted that this years’ Ghanafest will be the best yet organized by Ghanaians in Chicago and appealed to the community to come out in their numbers to join the fun!
Mr. CNN is scheduled to cover the festival and as usual, Ghanaweb and the Ghana National Council will be there! You cannot miss out on this!
