Media personality Tima Kumkum has sparked fresh debate over infidelity and cultural norms, boldly declaring that cheating is a choice—not a mistake.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Tima dismissed the widely accepted narrative that men are naturally polygamous, describing it as a “harmful” excuse that promotes betrayal in relationships and marriages.
“They’ve made it so normal to say men are polygamous by nature. I don’t want to hear that crap,” she stated firmly.
Tima stressed that cheating is never accidental, arguing that people who are unfaithful do so with full awareness of their actions.
“If you cheat, it was deliberate,” she said. “You knew what you were doing was wrong, and you did it anyway. If it was right, you would have told your wife. But you kept it from her because deep down, you know God will punish you one day.”
Quoting the Bible, she emphasized that sexual immorality remains the only valid biblical reason for divorce and underlined that forgiveness is a personal choice.
“Yes, adultery. The Bible clearly states that the only valid reason for divorce is sexual immorality,” Tima explained. “The Bible says it depends on you if you want to forgive.”
She expressed concern about how society has increasingly normalized male infidelity, calling for a return to honesty and accountability in relationships.
“People now make it seem like it’s normal, but it’s not,” she said. “I’m not saying this because I’m a woman. Women cheat too, but the issue here is about men. And I’m saying, loyalty is one of the most important things in every relationship or marriage.”
Tima’s comments have resonated widely, especially among those advocating for mutual respect and fidelity in Ghanaian marriages. Her unfiltered take adds fuel to the ongoing discourse about trust, gender expectations, and morality in modern relationships.
