The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) in the Central Region has successfully held a 3-day capacity building workshop for all Senior High School heads in the region.
The workshop, themed “Building a Conducive School Climate for Teacher Development and Support; The Role of SHS Heads,” took place at the Dunkwa Senior High Technical School in Dunkwa-on-Offin.
The workshop aimed to equip SHS heads with the necessary skills and knowledge to create a supportive environment that fosters teacher development and promotes quality education.
By focusing on building a conducive school climate, CHASS seeks to enhance the overall learning experience for students and improve the teaching experience for educators.
Regional Director of Education, Dr. Mrs. Juliette Dufie Otami, advised all heads to extend their role beyond administration.
She emphasized that SHS heads are mentors, facilitators, and enablers, shaping not just academic outcomes but the entire professional atmosphere that either inspires or stifles teacher growth.
Dr. Otami urged the heads to adopt practices that promote collaboration, strengthen instructional leadership, and prioritize staff well-being.
The headmistress of Dunkwa Senior High Technical School, Patience Larko Lartey, and the headmaster of Boa Amponsem SHS, Daniel Asante, have expressed their excitement about hosting the capacity building workshop for Senior High School heads in Dunkwa-on-Offin at Dunkwa Senior High Technical School.
