Charred body of boy, two, recovered

Coaltar (E/R), Jan. 10, GNA – The charred remains of Derrick Anor a two-year-old boy of Marfukrom near Kraboa Coaltar was at the weekend recovered from a room in which he was sleeping when it was gutted by fire.

District Police Commander in charge of Nsawam, ASP Emmanuel Asafo Adjei Nartey told the Ghana News Agency that the parents left the child alone in the room with a burning candle while they went out to watch television in the town.

ASP Nartey said on their return there was heavy smoke in the room while some passers-by were watching but before the door could be forcibly open the child had already been burnt.

Meanwhile the body of the deceased has since been buried while the police are investigating.
