Charge Afari Gyan with treason if… – Frances Essiam

Failed New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary hopeful for the Adentan constituency in the 2012 general elections, Frances Essiam, has heaped coals of fire on the chairman of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, indicting him for solely laying the foundations for malpractices that marred the 2012 general elections.

Speaking on Oman FM, Madam Frances Essiam called on the Supreme Court, to charge Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan with “treason” should he be held liable for any offence that led to the buildup of electoral negligence.

According to her, prior to the 2012 general elections, Mr. Afari Gyan deliberately turned a deaf ear to suggestions that came from the quarters of the New Patriotic Party and personally handled the process like a ‘godfather’.

“Today, look at how lean he has grown in court because he didn’t do the right thing”, she said.
