Chamber of Commerce pays tribute to late Alhaji Aliu Mahama

The Ghana Chamber of Commerce (GCCI) and Industry, has expressed grief over the death of the former Vice President of Ghana, Alhaji Aliu Mahama.

A statement issued in Accra and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) by Dr. Seth Adjei Baah, President, GCCI, described the late former Vice President as a distinguished gentleman.

He served under former President Kufuor Administration from January 2001 to January 2009.

It said, “We mourn deeply with the widow, Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama, the children and the entire family and we wish the people of Ghana great courage and strength in this difficult period.”

The statement said the passing away was unexpected; “we take consolation in the fact that he lived a very simple, selfless, productive life and contributed his quota to the course of Ghana.”

It urged all Ghanaians to use this occasion to unite the nation especially as the country prepare for the general elections next month.
