Chain-saw operator dies in operation

Akim Ekorso(E/R), March 08, GNA – Tragedy hit Akim Ekorso in the Atiwa District of Eastern region, when a chain-saw operator Joe Appiah 28, met his untimely death when he was trapped by a falling tree. Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Akim Ekorso on Monday, Mr George Amponsah a family spokesman, said in the morning of last Saturday, Appiah felled some trees.

He said in the afternoon Appiah decided to fell the last tree and in the course of felling the tree it came into contact with another tree and hit him on the forehead.

Mr Amponsah said Appiah was rushed to Kibi Government hospital but was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the corpse had been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy while Abomosu police investigate the incident. 08 March 06
