CEPS would participate in Independence parade – Doku

Accra, Feb.13 GNA – The Management of Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) on Friday stated that its officers would participate in this year’s Independence Day celebration as well as other national events.

A statement signed by Mr Emmanuel Nmashie Doku, Commissioner of CEPS said the Service’s attention had been drawn to a news report from Kumasi headlined, “Kumasi CEPS exceeds revenue Target” and said some of the issues discussed in the story were not the decisions of the Service. The statement referred to one of the issues that, “Management was considering withdrawing the personnel from the Independence Day parade this year to save the Service from the embarrassing situation it went through last year” and said the management of CEPS had not contemplated of any such decision.

It said, “the management of CEPS regrets the misconception caused by the said pronouncement and subsequent publication”.
