CEPS To Review Dubious Promotions Of Personnel

The Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) administration has set up a committee to review all wholesale and dubious promotions of personnel. CEPS Commissioner, Kofi Opoku-Ntiamoah blamed previous administrations for the situation, saying that while some personnel were not promoted for 10 years, others received accelerated promotions twice within a year.

He cautioned that all regional, sectional and frontier heads who do not perform to expectation would be replaced by more competent, dynamic and efficient officers. Mr Opoku Ntiamoah was speaking at the beginning a four-day official visit to the Brong Ahafo Region.

He emphasized that with six more weeks to the end of the year, smuggling activities would be intensified and called on the service’s anti-smuggling task force to be resolute in their operations to clamp down on the “nation wreckers.” The visit would enable him to interact with personnel of the service, identify their operational problems and find solutions to enable personnel to work efficiently to maximise revenue collection.
