CEO of Tanga Radio contests for NPP Primaries

Mr Bawa Rashid Agana, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tanga FM radio station based in Bolgatanga, has filed to contest for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Primaries in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency.

The CEO, a former Upper East Regional Correspondent of Citi FM, is contesting with two other candidates, Mr Joe Ameyure, a former Presiding Member of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly, and Mr Rex Asanga, a Development Practitioner.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Bolagatanga after his campaign rounds, the 40-year old CEO said from all indications, he was sure of winning the primaries and annexing the Parliamentary seat for the party come 2016.

“In the past elections, the party has not been able to win the Bolgatanga Central seat, and it needs somebody who has the ability, competence as well as dynamism, and is sociable and lived very well with the constituents to be able to capture it. I have all these credentials to capture the seat for the party this time round,” he intimated.

He said as a former Assembly member, he had lived with the constituents and had initiated a lot of development projects, as well as solved many problems of individuals within the constituency.

He said the party may be losing the seat if they failed to endorse him as the Parliamentary candidate and appealed to the delegates to consider that and endorse him at the primaries.

He said apart from having advantage over the two other contestants, he was the youngest and when given the chance he would use his energy to champion a lot of the party’s activities to enable it win power come 2016.
