Central Region hits 90 per cent success in census

Cape Coast, April 10, GNA–The Central Region was able to cover more than 90 percent of its enumeration areas of the Population and Housing Census which officially ended on Sunday.

Mr David Kombat, the Regional Statistician, made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Monday in Cape Coast. He said of the 12 districts in the region, only Ewutu-Efutu and the Gomoa districts have not yet been covered due to initial boundary problems enumerators encountered.

Mr Kombat said everything would be done to finish enumeration in the two districts by April 12 adding that enumerators from other districts are being mobilised to assist in the two areas.

He said although fieldwork has officially ended, residents in areas which have not yet been enumerated should still expect visits up to Wednesday April 12. Mr Kombat was hopeful that all enumerators who have completed their work would by the weekend hang over all documents in their possession for their reports to be vetted.
