Central Ghana Conference of SDA holds prayer of peace

Kumasi, Nov. 19, GNA – The Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church last Saturday held a special prayer session in Kumasi, for peace in the December 7 elections. The four-hour prayer meeting, which had the theme; “Prayer for a peaceful election, unity and stability for Mother Ghana”, saw a massive turn out of Adventists faithfuls from all over the metropolis who joined to offer prayers to the Almighty God for an incident free election. In a sermon prior to the prayer session, Pastor Emmanuel Denteh, President of the Central Ghana Conference, gave a clarion call to all Ghanaians to pray for peace, prosperity and unity ‘for the land of our birth’.

Pastor Eric Osei Yeboah, District Pastor in a welcome address said Ghanaians should be grateful to the Almighty God for his mercies, goodness and the peace prevailing in the country. He advised the electorate to exercise restraint, tolerance and support any of the candidates who may emerge the winner at the end of the election in the supreme interest of the nation. In a prayer led by Pastor E. K. Akwaboa, a retired Minister, he called for God’s forgiveness and protection to help secure a peaceful election and a prosperous nation. Dignitaries who participated were Mr Osei Kwame Prempeh, Deputy Attorney and Justice, Mr Ben Abankwah, District Chief Executive for Sekyere South District and Lawyer Owusu Afriyie, a high ranking member of the NPP in the Ashanti Region. 19 Nov. 08
