Celeb news ‘I Really Like That Guy’ – Cecilia Marfo Opens Up About Black Sherif

Ghanaian gospel singer Cecilia Marfo has stated there is one voice in Ghana’s secular music world that never fails to shake her spirit, and that voice is Black Sherif’s.

She revealed that his work, particularly a song she connects to deeply, strikes her with an intensity she rarely experiences from non-gospel musicians.

During an interview on Bryt TV, Marfo responded to questions about her ties with artistes beyond the gospel fold. She stressed that she bears no ill will toward secular performers and often enjoys music from several mainstream stars.

She named Shatta Wale and Kwabena Kwabena as part of the musicians she listens to, yet she placed Black Sherif in a category of his own. She praised his gift for crafting lyrics that feel unusually profound for someone so young.

Her strongest attachment, she said, is to Black Sherif’s “Soma Obi,” a song she feels with both heart and soul.

“I really like that guy Black Sherif but he doesn’t know. I love his song ‘Soma Obi’ very much,” she said.

Cecilia Marfo further stated that the track affects her so deeply that she has broken into tears on several occasions, whether hearing it on the radio, at home or during a casual scroll through TikTok.
