CDS advocates good management practices within the Armed Forces

The Chief of the Defense Staff (CDS), Lieutenant-General Peter Augustine Blay, on Thursday called for good management practices within the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

A statement issued by the GAF, copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra on Thursday, said Lt.-Gen. Blay made the request during the inauguration of a two 52-Seater Mercedes Benz buses purchased at $292,600.00.

The buses would be used by Ghanaian troops serving with the United Nations Operations in Cote D’Ivoire (UNOCI).

Lt-Gen Blay said the buses were acquired through good management of resources used for UNOCI troops and appealed to section commanders to take good care of the buses.

He said: “Even if you are a section commander and you are given some responsibilities, take care of it very well and when you do, you can improve the lot of your section and it would go up to the platoon, the company, battalion and its equivalent, the formation, the service and the Ghana Armed Forces as a whole,” he said.

Major General Joseph Naah Adinkrah, Chief Staff Officer at the Army Headquarters, received the buses on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff.**
