CCMA to establish yam market at Mempeasem

Cape Coast, Oct. 7, GNA – The Metropolitan Chief Executive of Cape Coast, Mr Anthony Egyir Arkins, has said a yam market would soon be established at Mempeasem near Cape coast, to help generate revenue for the development of the Metropolis.

Mr Arkins who disclosed this in an interview with the GNA at Cape Coast, said it was the intention of the assembly to get the market commissioned and functioning as soon as possible. He appealed to the assembly members and stakeholders to ensure that th= e objectives for which the market is being established are achieved. Mr Arkins also said the assembly was considering the creation of new market days for the sale of foodstuffs from the Abura area and this he note= d would create market avenues for the neighbouring farming communities. He said a new kraal was being constructed at Mempeasem to help relocat= e the cattle ranch from the town centre, adding that a slaughter house would also be constructed. Mr Arkins said the Cape Coast Constituency stretched from the seaside to Brebedze a community which shares a common boundary with Jukwa near Twif= o Praso adding that work would soon begin on the new Kotokuraba market complex.
