Catholics in Bisease celebrated feast of Pentecost

Ajumako Bisease (C/R), June 16, GNA – About 1,500 Roman Catholics from the Ajumako Enyan-Essiam District on Sunday celebrated the Feast of Pentecost at Saint Michael Catholic Church at Bisease.

There was also a mass wedding for six couples.

Rev. Father Isaac Essel told the congregation that marriage was ordained by God and must be respected by all, especially Christians.

He said it was the wish of God that married couples stayed in love, peace faithfulness, respect for one another and others.

A branch executive of the Justice and Peace Commission of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cape Coast was inaugurated.

The seven-member committee has Mr Sammy O. Ofori as Chairman, Mr John K. Quainoo, Vice Chairman, Tofuhen Nana Essuon Weldu IV, Secretary and Mr Emmanuel K. Koomson, Assistant Secretary.

Other members were Madam Elizabeth Donkor, Financial Secretary with Rev. Father Benjamin Baiden the Parish Priest and the Associate Parish Priest Rev. Fr Isaac Essel as ex-officio members.

Mr Ofori told the congregation to have confidence in the committee and feel free to approach them with all problems for peaceful and amicable settlement.

The Justice and Peace Commission offer education, guidance and counselling to people.
