Castro Saga: Ghana Police to invite lawyer Ampaw, et al

The Ghana Police Service has served notice that a private legal practitioner Maurice Ampaw will soon be invited to help with investigations into the missing Castro saga.

Lawyer Ampaw is on record to have claimed that Theophilus Tagoe, real name of the missing hiplife artiste, is alive and knows his whereabouts.

Castro and a lady friend, Janet Bandu, disappeared on the Ada estuary while jet skiing on a holiday with Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan on July 6.

The legal practitioner has alleged that some individuals close to the Black Stars skipper have attempted bribing the parents of the missing musician to keep mute over his fate.

“I am told the guy is not dead and that he has changed his haircut. Who are they trying to joke with? Now I am provoking the police to act. I can tell you for a fact that attempts have been made to bribe Castro’s parents, but they failed,” Lawyer Ampaw said earlier.

Addressing the media Monday, the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police, COP Prosper Kwame Agblor, disclosed that the legal brain will be invited to assist them with investigations after revealing he knows the whereabouts of the popular singer.

The Marine Police have been scouring the sea since the incident occurred in July to no avail.

The CID boss said the “search and investigations” will proceed despite two months of fruitless operation, adding that legally Castro is still alive and cannot be declared dead until seven years, and seven days have elapsed.
