Cassava processing training programme Ankwanda

Twenty-five participants including three men at Akwanda, a town in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality, have received training in cassava processing into various products basically fufu flour.

The eight-day training organized by the KEEA Business Advisory Centre (BAC) with funding from the Rural Enterprise Programme (REP) was also to improve the standard of living of the people through the establishment of small scale enterprises.

Ms. Veronica Essel, Head of the KEEA BAC, said the participants were taught to build a solar drier with local materials.

She said they diverted from gari processing to explore other ventures to help vary their trade and appealed to the participants to form groups to enable them to attract assistance from the BAC and micro and small scale enterprise support institutions.
