Casford Hall students at the mercy of the weather

Cape Coast, April 3, GNA – Some students of Casely Hayford Hall of the University of Cape Coast were last night at the mercy of the weather after they complied with an official directive to vacate the hall by noon on Wednesday, April 2.

The students, who have nowhere to stay, kept vigil in an open space on the campus and were soaked during a heavy downpour last night. The students said some of them had their books and belongings completely destroyed by the rain and appealed to NADMO to come to their aid.

Most of them said it had become difficult for them to concentrate on their studies because they do not have places of abode. An executive member of the hall who only gave his name as Odeefuo told the GNA on Thursday that some of the students went to stay with their friends in other halls and hostels while some went to the extent of sleeping with their female friends at Adehye, a female hall. He said the executive members of the hall met with the regional minister on Wednesday to find an amicable solution to the problem while the hall president was also meeting with members of the administration on the same matter.
