Carpenter remanded for stealing

Aflao, Jan. 20, GNA- Kwabla Ganyo, 33, a Carpenter at Abor in the Keta District who broke into the room of his client and stole 800,000 cedis has been remanded in custody by an Aflao Circuit Court. Ganyo who pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and stealing would reappear on February 7 for sentencing.

Mr Prosper K. Ledi, Chief Inspector of Police at Abor, told the Court presided over by Mr Godwin Kwasi-Kumah that Ganyo was engaged by the complainant, Madam Sherry Horgah, an Abor- based Businesswoman on January 4, this year, to roof her toilet.

He said Madam Horgah returned from town that evening to realise that her bedroom had been ransacked.

Mr Ledi said the complainant confronted the accused who vehemently denied the offence. He said on the night of January 6, this year, Ganyo sneaked into Madam Horgah’s house, and dropped 200,000 cedis but was spotted and arrested. The Court has ordered Ganyo to return the remaining 600,000 cedis pending his sentence.
