Carpenter granted 20 million- cedi bail for assault

Ejisu (Ash), Feb.24, GNA- The Ejisu District Court on Thursday granted a 20 million cedi- bail to a 20-year -old carpenter, Yaw Gyasi for assaulting one Kofi Frimpong, a trader. He pleaded guilty.

Prosecuting Police Inspector Nkansah Twumasi Ankrah told the Court presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah, that last January, the accused seized the food the complainant and his brother-in-law were eating and put it into a dustbin without any provocation. He said when Frimpong asked why Gyasi took the action, he took offence and beat him up.

Inspector Ankrah said the accused told Frimpong later that he was fond of making noise in the house and needed some one to discipline him.
