Captain Smart cries on air as he announces KABA’s death

Many Ghanaians, particularly those in the media landscape are in shock after receiving news about the sudden demise of the host of Asempa FM’s political show ‘Ekosi Sen’ Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong.

KABA, as he is affectionately called, was confirmed dead in the early hours of Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

Fans and colleague journalists have flooded social media with grief-stricken messages and condolences keep pouring in for the seasoned journalist who was recently pronounced the Radio Talk Show Host of the Year at the 2017 RTP Awards.

Among co-workers who have been saddened by the departure of KABA is Captain Smart.

The host of Adom FM’s ‘Fabewoso’ could not hold his tears. He seems to be deeply wounded by his “friend’s” death and wailed loudly on air as he officially announced the death of KABA.

“I don’t work on Saturdays but something brought me here. I don’t know how to say it but I’ve been asked to say it.

What has happened is that, my brother KABA was at work yesterday but wasn’t feeling too well.

He was sent to the hospital but we’ve received news that our brother slept and couldn’t wake up,” he announced.
