CAPECS trains 26 SMCs in Wa West District

Wa, Jan. 6, GNA – Twenty-six School Management Committees (SMCs) from the Wa West District of the Upper West Region have received capacity building training to enable them to scale up their performance to enhance quality education in the district.

The training was facilitated by the Center for the Alleviation of Poverty, Environment and Child Support (CAPECS), a local Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) as part of the implementation of the “Girl Power Project” in the district.

The resource persons were officials from the District Education Office and Center for Community Participation and Development (CCPAD).

Participants were taken through topics such as the SMC concept and management structures, building mutual trust between SMCs and community members, participatory planning approaches, mobilization of district and commu’
