Cape Coast to get ultra modern bus terminal

Cape Coast, June 22, GNA – The Human Resource Manager of the Metro Mass Transit (MMT), Mr. Stephen Yeboah, on Wednesday cut the sod for work to begin on a new state-of-the-art Bus Terminal complex for the Company in Cape Coast. He said the project, estimated to cost GHC 920,000, would consist of offices, technical workshop, loading bay, passenger lounge, fuel station, accommodation for operational crew and places of convenience.

Mr. Yeboah said the project formed part of MMT’s nationwide initiative to improve the country’s transportation, which had already taken off in Tarkwa, Ho and Bolgatanga.

He said that the company was poised to transform the country’s transport system for

top-notch service to its clients. Mr. Otupiri Darko Akoto, Acting Depot Manager of MMT, said that the project, to be

carried out by Walker Construction Firm, and finance through the company’= s internally

generated funds, has been scheduled for completion next December. He said the MMT has also planned to beef up its fleet of buses and replace buses that

have reached their four years lifespan, and gave the assurance that complaints of clients

would be promptly addressed.
