The workshop, an innovation by Mr Obo Dzilike Gassonu, Akatsi District Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), was on the theme: “Good leadership and harmony in fellowship creates good governance.”

Topics treated at the GNAT sponsored workshop included “Life, existence and the laws of life” and “Work environment and culture”. Addressing the opening ceremony, Mr David Kpenu, District Chairman of the GNAT said the workshop was a pilot programme to help shift the paradigm of the approach to teaching and to set the pace for others to follow as a way of reshaping the future of teaching.

Mr Gassonu, the initiator of the workshop concept told the participants that the lack of books and capacity building materials had compelled him to device the concept to as a way of improving teaching. He appealed to the government and non-governmental organisations to support the initiative through financial and other assistance to help the idea to mature.
