Cann elected NPP parliamentary candidate for Edubiase

Atobiase (Ash), May 1, GNA – Mr Charles Cann, a businessman, was on Saturday elected as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the New Edubiase constituency seat in Election 2012, at Atobiase in the Adansi South District.

He polled 274 votes out of the total 451 votes cast as against 175 votes obtained by Mr De-Graft Kyei-Baffour in the election conducted by officials of the Electoral Commission.

Alhaji Ali Musah Zingi, official of the Ashanti Regional Secretariat of the NPP, asked the party members to work assiduously to canvass for votes for the NPP to enable it wrest the Edubiase seat from the National Democratic Congress. He commended the delegates for ensuring peaceful parliamentary primari= es.

The constituency chairman, Mr Prince Anfo-Boahen, called for unity, love and understanding among party supporters and asked them to work harder to ensure victory for the NPP in 2012. Mr Cann thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work seriously to enable the NPP win the seat and to get more votes in the Presidential polls. 1 May 11
