Candidate Collapses at BECE Centre

Nyinahin (Ash), April 21, GNA – One student of the Nyinahin Salem Junior High School (JHS) suddenly collapsed just when the Social Studies Paper One was to be written at the L/A JSS Centre on Tuesday. Master Frank Adom, who was initially rushed to the Nyinahin Government Hospital, has been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi for further treatment. The incident however did not delay or stop the writing of the paper.

Out of 330 candidates who registered to write their examination, five girls were absent.

At the Nyinahin Senior High School Centre, 298 candidates registered but three girls were absent; one from Nyinahin Presbyterian JHS and two from Nyinahin Saint Paul Roman Catholic JHS, the cause of their absence was not known.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, Mrs Gladys Ampa-Mensah, Atwima Mponua District Examination officer said 1983 candidates from 56 Junior High Schools registered for the examination out of which 708 were girls.
