Candice Mekoba wins Miss Africa New Jersey

Congratulations are pouring for Miss Nigeria! Candice Mekoba was crowned the winner of the Miss Africa New Jersey 2013 on July 12 in Newark New Jersey. Her crown was handed over by last year’s winner, Ucee Guzeh, who competed for Liberia. The 1st runner-up was Tai Njaye from Guinea, and 2nd runner up Tina Limengo from Democratic Republic of Congo.

10 women competed in this year’s pageant from 7 African Countries. The 10 finalists were presented to a panel of five judges. The finalists were judged based on their stage Introduction, Talent, Traditional, Swim Suit, and Evening gown. These girls were so good that it took the judges sometime to come up with the results. In attendance was more than six hundred audience who witness this event including community leaders.
