Cancelling of names halts voting at Afrancho

The voting process was halted for hours when the Electoral Commission (EC) officials cancelled names of five persons who had voted during the special voting exercise at the Afrancho Methodist church polling center in the Afigya Kwabre South constituency of the Ashanti region.

Ultimate FM’s Chantel Anomabase reports that the voters who were in a queue had to hold on whilst the EC officials cancelled the names of the persons who voted on December 1 and 4.

She added that the cancellation was necessitated to prevent the voters from further voting in the constituency.

According to her, names of voters were missing in the register and they had to hop from one polling center to other because the centers have been categorized in alphabetical order but majority of voters were not aware of this new development.
