Calm restored to Suhyen after violent clashes

Calm has been restored to Suhyen in the New Juabeng district of the Eastern region following violent chieftaincy clashes Monday evening.

At least six people including a child sustained severe injuries during the clashes between supporters of two rival chiefs.

The supporters clashed after a visit by the Vice President to one of the chiefs during the National Sanitation day.

The police were said to have separated the warring factions but failed to make any arrest.

Nana Brenya Kwakye, Kyedomhene of Suhyen told Starr News that one of the Chiefs was having a meeting with his people to sensitise them on the national sanitation day exercise when other group attacked them.
