Accra, April 24, GNA – Apostle Dr Emmanuel O. Donkor, General Secretary of the Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), has asked Ghanaians to ensure that the nation continued to enjoy the peace that currently prevailed.
Apostle Donkor said Easter “is a celebration during which Jesus Christ showed the world and mankind the greatest love and therefore Ghanaians irrespective of our religious affiliation should love each other to ensure a peaceful co-existence”.
He was addressing the New Bortianor Zone Congregation of the CACI on Sunday to mark the end of the Easter Convention. The members, who were clad in white, happily sang and danced to signify the redemption and joy that came with the resurrection of Christ.
Apostle Donkor spoke on the theme: 93The Blessings of Bearing Fruits” under the general theme: 93Bearing Fruits for the Kingdom,” fo= r the five-day Convention that was organised at Area and Zonal levels of the Church nationwide.
He said Ghana is a God fearing nation hence she had over the years received God’s blessings and therefore urged the people to focus on seeking the face of God and His guidance. “This will enable us to bear more fruits by winning more souls into God’s kingdom instead of allowing a few disgruntled ones to tear the nation apart.
“The Bible says in Mathew 23:39 that Love your neighbour as yourself and therefore the God we serve, in Galatians 5:22, requires from us that the spirit in us produces love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self control. “Let us therefore not forget ourselves as a people of God and stop all petty squabbles, insults, envy and the pull him down syndrome but continue to pray for the nation even as we work towards a peaceful, stable, and prosperous country,” Apostle Donkor said. He appealed to the media not to allow people, especially politicians, to trade insults on their respective mediums but propagate messages that ensured love, truth and the development of the nation. He led the congregation, headed by the Circuit Pastor, Rev. Daniel Quansah, to pray for the nation, the people and political leaders.
