C323mn bonus for Ahafo-Ano District cocoa farmers

The Produce Buying Company (PBC) of the Ghana Cocoa Board has disbursed 323 million cedis bonus to over 1,000 cocoa farmers in the Ahafo-Ano South District.

Mr S.Y. Andrews Ofori, District Manager of the PBC, said the bonus paid was for cocoa purchased from October to December last year.

Nana Akwasi Amoateng, the Ahafo-Ano South District Chief Farmer, expressed delight about the close supervisory role of the District PBC Manager and his transparency, which made it possible for cocoa farmers to benefit from the bonus.

He also commended the government for increasing the producer price of cocoa that, he said, gingered up the farmers.
