C/R police urge public to help ensure an incident free PANAFEST

Cape Coast, July 24, GNA-The Central Regional police command, on Thursday gave the assurance that it has put in place adequate security measures to make the celebration of this year’s PANAFEST incident-free. A release issued and signed by the Regional Commander, Mr. Patrick Ampewuah at Cape Coast, did however, not disclose what the measures were, but urged the public to, also be on their guard, “since absolute security cannot be taken for granted”.

The statement advised the public to be security conscious by ensuring that their doors, windows and other points of entry into their homes were well secured.

They should also be wary of intruders or confidence tricksters who would want to take advantage of the festival to dupe people. It also advised hoteliers to look out for idlers who trail lodgers to their premises.

It reminded the public that it was an offence punishable by law to sit by the roadside to beg for alms, and warned that his outfit would soon mount an operation to rid the streets of beggars. Parents were also entreated to ensure that their children refrained from defecating at the beach and warned that offenders would be prosecuted when caught.
