C/R: Mahama cuts sod for 10 polyclinics

President John Dramani Mahama has cut a sod for the construction of 10 polyclinics in the Central Region at Gomoa Dawurampong.

At a ceremony during the final lap of his Central Regional leg of his Accounting to the People tour, Mr Mahama said the health of the people is paramount to his government and hopes these clinics will help boost access to healthcare delivery.

President Mahama, during inspection of some road projects in the area, directed the Minister of Roads and Highways, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, to terminate the contract of the contractor working on the Gomoa Ankamu-Gomoa Dawurampong-Gomoa Afransi road.

The president, who used the road during his tour in the region, described ongoing works on the road as pathetic.

“I saw the bad state of the road on my way here. I saw some old and pathetic machines the contractor was using on the road project. I think the job is beyond the capacity of the contractor, hence I have directed the Roads Minister Alhaji Inusah Fuseini to take the contract away from the contractor and award it to a new contractor who has the capacity to construct the road so that on my next visit, I will see dramatic change on the road,” he said.
