C/R drivers advised to ensure accident-free Christmas

Cape Coast Dec.18, GNA- Mr Robert Eshun, Central Regional chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) on Wednesday appealed to drivers in the region, to be extra careful during Christmas to ensure that the celebration becomes accident free.

Mr Eshun made the appeal when he introduced the newly elected five-member regional executive to members of the regional council of the union at a meeting in Cape Coast on Thursday.

He regretted that many of the road accidents, were preventable and could have been avoided if drivers adhered to traffic regulations. He, therefore, advised them to ensure that their vehicles were always roadworthy, and refrain from overloading, unnecessary overtaking and over-speeding.

Mr Eshun thanked the council members for voting for them and hoped they would co-operate with them at all times.
