C/R CHASS acquires bus

Cape Coast, June 21, GNA – The Central Regional chapter of the conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) has acquired a nineteen-seater TATA bus to facilitate movement of the members especially those who do not have school buses. The bus which cost GH¢ 27,000 and insured at GH¢ 1,700 was purchased with levies and special contributions from the regional chapter members of the conference. Mr. Frank G. Amissah, Headmaster of St. Augustine College at Cape Coast and the out-going Chairman of the Conference handed over the keys of the bus to the in-coming Chairman, Rev. Solomon Paa Grant Essilfie, Headmaster of Saltpond Methodist Senior High School at a ceremony at Cape Coast.

Mr. Amissah congratulated members for being able to achieve their hearts’ desire. “This has proved that, in unity nothing is impossible to achieve,” the out-going executives for their sterling leadership quality which had brought the conference this far. He assured them that, his administration would work had to get a permanent office where members could meet and share ideas on how to improve academic work in their various schools. The new chairman said the bus would help in reducing their administrative expenses on fuel as members could meet at vantage points to be picked for journeys which hitherto had to be made by members in individual vehicles. Other members of the new executive who were present at the function were;

Mrs. Cecilia Kwakye Cofie, Headmastress of Winneba Senior High School and Vice-Chairperson, Mr. Robert Koomson-Barnes, of Ghana National college and Secretary and Assistant Secretary Mr. Mumuni Issah Dimbie of Ekumfi T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School. Others were Mrs. Juliana Owusu-Ansah of the University Practicing Senior High School, Treasurer Mrs. Agnes Hawkson of Mankessim Senior High Technical School, Welfare Officer, and Mr. Mohammed Ackonu of Potsin T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School a member. Mrs. Christiana Techie-Menson of Academy of Christ the King, who is the out-going Treasurer was also present.
