Butcher defiles 11-year-old girl

Tema, Dec. 23, GNA – The Tema Circuit Court ‘B’ has remanded Wisdom Abdulai Akakpo, a 35-year-old butcher in police custody for defiling an 11 year old girl.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and will re-appear on December 31. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Adolphus Otchere, told the court that the accused lived in the same vicinity with the victim at Official Town in Ashaiman.

He said on November 29 this year, the accused met the victim behind her house and allegedly lured her into his house with the promise of giving her a gift.

Chief Inspector Otchere said the accused sent the victim to his room and forcibly had sex with her, repeating it on two other occasions. He said the victim, who fell sick and could not walk properly as a result of her ordeal, confessed to her grandmother when she was confronted. The prosecutor said the victim’s grandmother reported the case to the Police, and Akakpo was later arrested. A medical report confirmed that the girl had been defiled, the prosecution added. 23 Dec 09
