Businessman remanded for defilement

Muntalla Mohammed Binlard a 31 year- old businessman has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly defiling a seven- year old girl at Nima. Binlard charged with defilement.

His plea was not taken.

The court presided over by Mr Yaw Attah Sampong remanded Binlard into Police custody to reappear on August 23.

Prosecution, Chief Inspector William Nyadikor stated that the complainant is the victim’s mother who resides at Maamobi, Accra.

According to Inspector Asante, on July 20, at about 10: 00 hours the accused who is a step brother to the victim met her and the complainant in a nearby house where the complainant had paid a visit to a friend.

The accused on seeing them, asked the complainant to allow him send the victim home and bring her back during the day.

Prosecution said the complainant obliged.

The same day at about 16:30 hour prosecution said the victim arrived home and told her mother that Binlard gave her to two men on a motor bike to bring her home.

The victim told her mother that she would like to urinate and the complainant in her bid to assist the victim saw blood in her pant and her uterus protruding.

The complainant raised the alarm and sympathisers who came to the scene accompanied her to the Police Station where she was issued with a medical form to send the victim to hospital for medical examination.

Prosecution said the victim told her mother that Binlard bought her cooked rice and after eating it, she fell asleep.

Victim stated that when she woke up, she saw the accused person inserting his finger into her vagina.
