Businessman fined for unlawful entry and assault

Hohoe, July 29, GNA – Dormon Ayitey, a businessman, who appeared before a Hohoe Magistrate Court for unlawful entry and assault, has been ordered to pay a fine of 50 Ghana cedis to the complainant.

Ayitey pleaded guilty with explanation to assault and not guilty to unlawful entry.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Emmanuel Kpodo told the court

presided over by Ms Janet Awo Bakudie that Raphael Kuwuamene, a

teacher, visited his girlfriend who was the former girlfriend of Ayitey at Golokwati in the municipality on May 6.

He said at about 0300 hours on May 7, Ayitey sneaked into his ex-girlfriend’s room while she went out to urinate and met Mr Kuwuamene sleeping naked.

Ayitey dragged Mr Kuwuamene out of the room naked and subjected him to severe beatings compelling the lady to shout for help.

He said Ayitey rushed to the Police Station to report the incident and was followed by Mr Kuwuamene who also reported Ayitey’s conduct leading to Ayitey’s arrest.

Ayitey explained that he was still attached to the girl with whom he had one child who and lives in Accra.
