Business organizations urged to support GAC

Ejura (Ash), Sept. 30, GNA – Corporate and multi-national organizations have been urged to collaborate with the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) to undertake sustainable public education campaign on HIV/AIDS to reduce its spread in the country. Mr Philip Addai, Executive Director of the Ejura Youth Health Organisation, said multi-national companies and other corporate organizations could assist by providing financial support to the Commission to enhance all year round public education on the virus. Mr Addai made the appeal at an orientation workshop on HIV/AIDS transmission and prevention, sponsored by the GAC at Ejura. The programme, which was attended by assembly members, teachers and students, religious groups and youth organizations from communities in the Ejura-Sekyedumase District, formed part of the Youth and Migration Workers Sexual Reproductive Health Education towards behaviour change on Sexually Transmitted Diseases Project of GAC. Mrs Elizabeth Tindana, Ejura-Sekyedumase District director of Health Services, urged the youth to take AIDS education serious to avoid contracting the virus.
