Business Chronicle

The story of Ghana’s market competitiveness in West Africa, takes the centre stage in the Business Chronicle.

The Paper says the 1998 African competitiveness Report (ACR) published by the Harvard Institute of International Development, has ranked Ghana first in West Africa and among the top 10 in Africa. The report, the paper says, measured the competitiveness of 23 African countries based on using six indices-openness, governance, finance, labour, infrastructure and institutions. The Business Chronicle reports that Mr Kwesi Ahwoi, Chief Executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) told a seminar organised by the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) in Accra. Mr. Ahwoi, the paper says, also announced that Ghana is among five other African countries which stand out in terms of relative foreign direct investment (FDI) flows.
