Bush fire destroys electric poles

Jasikan, Feb. 20, GNA – The Dambai electricity project commissioned on January 26 this year, broke down after a few days’ service due to the destruction of high-tension poles by bush fire.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview, on Wednesday, Mr. Hilarious Tekper, Senior Works Superintendent of the Electricity Company of Ghana said 40 high tension poles were burnt and the company’s workers were now busy replacing them for early restoration of power to the area next week.

Mr. Tekpor said power to the area was channelled from the Akosombo grid to benefit Katanga, Domabin, Tokoranu, Adokwanta and Kparekpare along the road to Dambai in the Kete-Krachi district.
