Bulldozer operator held for murder

Tarkwa, May 4, GNA – Francis Mabwine, a 28-year-old small-scale gold miner and bulldozer operator, has been remanded into prison custody for allegedly murdering Matthew Yaw Mbilla, 18.

His plea was not taken and he would re-appear on June 7. Prosecuting Police Detective Inspector Patrick C. Adzadza told the Tarkwa Circuit Court that the deceased, who was a mobile phone repairer, told Mbwine that he had a phone for sale at a cost of 1.4 million cedis but the suspect agreed to pay 800,000 instead. He said on 28 April Mbilla left home and told his parents that he was sending the phone to Mbawine but was later found dead in a pool of blood.

The suspect denied knowledge of the incident.
