Builsa District Holds Workshop For Teachers

Sandema (U/E), Sept 1, – Workshops have been organized for teachers of English Language in Fumbisi, Wiaga, Chuculiga and Sandema educational circuits of the Builsa district by the Ghana Educational Service at Sandema. In all, 217 English Language teachers were introduced to the techniques of teaching children how to read and write good English after 12 weeks teaching. Addressing the participants, Mr Jacob Ibn Asigiri, District Director of Education, advised them to revise what they learnt during their training college days and apply them. He called for capable supervision of teachers from headteachers to ensure the success of the Free, Compulsory Universal Basic Education (F-CUBE) programme. Mr Asigiri announced that 73 newly trained teachers have been posted to the district and appealed to communities and school management committees to help them settle.
