‘Buhari campaign tactics’ won’t help you – Anyidoho tells Nana

A Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic congress has asked Nana Addo to stop deluding himself from thinking that Ghanaians will show him sympathy with his “Buhari Campaign tactics”.

According to him, the factors that made Nigerians vote for President Buhari cannot be said of Ghana.

NPP Presidential candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says Nigeria has presented Ghanaians with an example to follow in limiting President Mahama to one-term in office.

“Nigeria showed the way last year…we hope this will turn out into a lesson Ghanaians can learn from our neighbours that change is sometimes needed after just one full term”. Then Vice President John Mahama became president after President John Atta Mills died in July 2012, barely four moths to the election. Mr. Mahama won and continued in office.

Armed with these sub-plots, the NPP Presidential candidate Akufo-Addo told a conference that Ghana’s recent political background is similar to Nigeria’s situation.

In Nigeria, Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan also became President after his boss, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, died 5 May 2010.But Nigerians stopped Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid with a victory for three-time presidential candidate Buhari, who led the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nana Akufo-Addo explained that there is enough evidence in Ghana’s socioeconomic life to justify the need for Ghanaians to limit President John Mahama to one-term in office. But in reaction ,

Koku Anyidoho speaking on Top Fm’s “Nyensempa” with Ekourba Gyasi ,said Nana Addo should stop comparing himself with the then Candidate Buhari, who led a united party to victory and unlike Nana Addo who has managed to divide the NPP with his autocratic tendencies which have led to the suspension of the NPP’s National Chairman and General Secretary .

According to Koku Anyidoho, Ghanaians will reward President Mahama with his “changing lives, transforming Ghana” campaign which has seen a lot of developmental projects springing up across the country.
