Buem gets 80 projects since NPP came to power

Jasikan (V/R), Sept. 7, GNA- Mr. Solomon Kwame Donkor, Jasikan District Chief Executive (DCE), said the Buem Traditional Area benefited from 80 projects since the New Patriotic Party (NPP) came to power in 2001.

He mentioned some of the projects as the upgrading of the Bueman Secondary School, the tarring of the Jasikan-Bodada road, the Atonkor-Akaa-Abotoase road, now under construction and the provision of mechanized water system for many communities in the area. Mr. Donkor was addressing a meeting of chiefs, queen mothers, Area and Town Council members at Jasikan on Monday.

He said the Assembly had taken delivery of 4,100 bags of fertilizer for distribution to farmers and farmers groups under the Agriculture Module of the National Youth Employment Programme. The DCE said enrolment in schools in the area had increased largely due to the introduction of the Capitation Grant and the Schools Feeding Programme.

He appealed to traditional rulers in the area to support the Assembly members and the Area and Town Council members in order to bring about rapid development adding that the communal spirit should also be revived.
